FAQs

You Have Questions. We have Answers.

Q: Do I own my vanity number?

A: Local numbers will be transferred to your phone line, making you responsible for that number. While your phone service is active, you can have the number transferred to a different carrier, or plan, or to another business/person.

Toll free numbers are not owned. They are managed by a responsible organization (RespOrg), which is usually your carrier. If you switch carriers, then the RespOrg may, or may not, allow the number to be transferred.

Q: Can every number be ported to my carrier plan?

A: Some telecom providers are not able to port in a number for various reasons. We strongly suggest that you contact your carrier and ask them if they are able to accept a number, before you place an order with us.

Q: How long does it take for my number to be activated and in-use?

A: From the time you order your new number, you should expect the porting process to take between 5 to 10 days.

Q: What happens if my carrier can’t accept the number that I want?

A: We have relationships with telecom providers all over the country and can refer you to a carrier that will be able to take your number.

Q: Am I limited to the number options found through your search feature?

A: No. We have many additional resources. Feel free to contact one of our live phone number consultants, who can help find you a great number.

Q: How much is a vanity number?

A: We offer a wide range of cost options, from $99 and up.
